Lyndon W. Cook

Lyndon W. Cook is a retired professor of history at Utah Valley University. He is a scholar on the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which he is a member. He has specialized in the historical background of the Doctrine and Covenants, the early figures of the Church, and its origins in Missouri and Nauvoo. He is the author of several articles and books, including The Revelations of the Prophet Joseph Smith; Joseph Smith and the Law of Consecration; A Tentative Inquiry into the Office of Seventy 1845–1845; Nauvoo Marriages: Proxy Sealings 1843-1846; The Mormon Experience: 1830–1930; William Law; and co-editor (with Andrew F. Ehat) of The Words of Joseph Smith: The Contemporary Accounts of the Nauvoo Discourses of the Prophet Joseph. He has collected thousands of images over the course of his research.

He was the publisher of the Orem, Utah-based Granin Book Company.

He and his wife, Lynette, are the parents of six children.
