Margaret Swensen Lifferth
Margaret Swensen Lifferth was sustained as first counselor in the Primary general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in general conference on Saturday, 2 April 2005. She was released in April 2010. She was born on born March 30, 1947, in Washington, D.C., and raised in Provo, Utah.
She earned her bachelor's degree in English from Brigham Young University. Lifferth has served her community on elementary and high school parent-teacher association boards and on the BYU Women's Conference Committee. She has served the Church as a member of the Primary General Board, counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, and volunteer docent at the Museum of Church History and Art. Lifferth and her husband, Dennis (married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1968), are the parents of seven children.
