Mark L. Pace was sustained as Sunday School general president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2019. At the time of his call, he was serving as an Area Seventy and member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy. He has also served as bishop, counselor in a bishopric, high councilor, counselor in a stake presidency, elders quorum president, Young Men president, and Scoutmaster. As a young man, he served a full-time mission to Spain. Later he presided over the Spain Barcelona Mission.

Pace was born on January 1, 1957, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while his father was presiding over the Argentine Mission. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Utah. He briefly worked for Price Waterhouse in New York City, and moved into commercial real estate development with the Boyer Company in Salt Lake City. He also did real estate development with the Gardner Company.

He and his wife, Anne Marie Langeland, are the parents of seven children.
