Michael Malm is an artist and painter of primarily landscapes and figure paintings. He studied under Del Parson at Dixie College (now Utah Tech University) and earned his associate’s degree. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Southern Utah University and then studied under Glen Edwards and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Utah State University. Through many workshops, he has studied under master painters such as Richard Schmid, Burton Silverman, Daniel Gerhartz, Quang Ho, Ron Hicks, Michael Workman, and Jim Norton.

Malm has also painted a number of religious paintings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which he is a member. He is the artist of the mural “Come Unto Jesus,” which spans a second-floor wall of the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. A smaller version of this mural hangs in the Orem Utah Temple.
