Michael Mercer: Mormon Animator

Michael Mercer is a motion graphics designer, a storyboard artist, and an award-winning animator. He works for Centerline Digital and previously worked for Simplifilm, MotionCraft, Zadie Productions.
Mercer earned his Bachelor of Fine Art degree in animation from Brigham Young University. While there, he created a 3D-animated commercial that aired on public television.
He is the creator of the From the Dust comic book series. From the Dust uses the Book of Mormon and Old Testament narrative and the Jewish diaspora as its inspiration. He draws the characters as animals. Mercer is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He announced in 2014 that the series would be suspended due to funding challenges.
