Milton Camargo was sustained as first counselor in the Sunday School general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2019. He has served as an Area Seventy in the Third Quorum of the Seventy, president of the Brazil Porto Alegre South Mission, counselor in the presidency of the Brazil Missionary Training Center, bishop, elders quorum president, and stake mission president. He was a full-time missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission.

Camargo is the first son of Helio da Rocha Camargo, who was the first Brazilian General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ (he served in the First Quorum of the Seventy and the Second Quorum of the Seventy).

Camargo was born on March 10, 1958, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Brigham Young University. His career was devoted to educating others and he served with BYU-Pathway Worldwide, Universidad Tecnológica de México, and Laureate Brazil Online Education.

He and his wife, Patricia, are the parents of three children.
