Mormon's practice their religion daily. Mormon's have daily, weekly and monthly practices.
Some of the daily practices are, praying as a family at meal time (blessing the food), daily family prayer while kneeling, daily family scripture study, daily personal scripture study, daily personal prayer.
Some of the weekly practices include, weekly Family Home Evening, and weekly service projects when needed.
Monthly practices include men, referred to as brothers, that visit and deliver a spiritual message to families they are assigned to, otherwise called Home Teaching. Women, referred to as sisters, do the same for other sisters in the ward; these visits are know as Visiting Teaching.
Daily Prayer
We have been commanded to pray often. Doctrine and Covenants 19:28
- 28 And again, I command thee that thou shalt pray
vocally as well as in thy heart; yea, before the world as well as in secret, in public as well as in private.
- Personal Prayer- A private vocal conversation between you and God.
- Family Prayer- A vocal conversation between the family member giving the prayer whilst eveyone listens with bowed heads and folded arms. Whether personal or family, bowed heads and folded arms show proper respect for our Father in heaven. Further respect is shown by kneeling when praying. As instructed our prayers are generally audible just as if we were speaking to someone in the room. We can also offer prayers in our hearts and minds when appropiate.
