Robert K. Dellenbach

Robert K. Dellenbach was sustained as a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 31, 1990, when he was called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy. He was transferred to the First Quorum of the Seventy on June 6, 1992. He was granted emeritus status on October 6, 2007. He has also served as the Church’s official liaison to the Salvation Army, Utah Chapter.

He was born on May 10, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and reared on a farm in Clinton, Utah. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and an MBA degree from Brigham Young University. He worked primarily as an educational administrator, first as vice president with the University of Alaska Fairbanks and then as president of the Alaska Methodist University (now Alaska Pacific University) in Anchorage. He also worked for the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in the San Diego, California, area and for the Institute for Advanced Technology of Control Data Corporation in Rockville, Maryland.

Prior to his call as a General Authority, Dellenbach served in the Church as a bishop, stake president, regional representative of the Twelve Apostles, president of the Germany Dusseldorf and the Germany Munich Missions. He also served as Young Men general president and as counselor to Jack H. Goaslind. As a young man, he served as a full-time missionary for thirty months in West Germany.

Dellenbach and his wife, Mary-Jayne, are the parents of three sons.
