Rosemary M. Wixom, General Primary President of the Mormon Church

Sister Rosemary M. Wixom was called to be the Primary general president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2010 and served in that capacity until she was released in April 2016.

In 2015, Wixom became the first woman to serve as a member of the Church's Temple and Family History Executive Council.

She was raised in Salt Lake City and attended Utah State University, where she graduated in elementary education. She and her husband, B. Jackson Wixom, are the parents of six children.

She has also served on the Primary general board, the Young Women general board, and with her husband from 2006 to 2009 as he served as president of the Washington DC South Mission. She and her husband were serving as matron and president, respectively, of the Salt Lake Temple from November 2017 until its closure for renovations in December 2019.

She also served on the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America.
