Ruth Muir Gardner was a lyricist and composer of many hymns known to members of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints.
She wrote the words to the well-loved song “Families Can Be Together Forever” (#300). She also wrote Go Forth with Faith” (#263), which is included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her husband, Lyall, composed this hymn.
She also wrote “I Believe in Being Honest,” “To Be a Pioneer,” “We Welcome You,” and “Go the Second Mile,” which are included in the Children's Songbook.
