Sergio R. Vargas was called to serve as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sustained on April 6, 2024, during the opening session of general conference.
Elder Vargas lives in Frutillar, Chile. He and his wife, Andrea, have three children. Elder Vargas has degrees in marine resources and business administration from three universities, as well as a certificate in sustainable business strategy from Harvard Business School. He most recently worked as production and operational manager for Ventisqueros, a member of the German Schörghuber Corporate Group. At the time of his call, he was serving in the Ninth Quorum of the Seventy.
