Sharon Downing Jarvis is the author of several novels, including The Kaleidoscope Season, The Healing Place, Priceless Discoveries, and The Zion Builders. She is the author of The Fairhaven Chronicles series, with volume titles including A Fresh Start in Fairhaven, Mercies and Miracles, Through Cloud and Sunshine, and A Thorny Path. The series is likened to an LDS version of the bestselling Mitford Series by Jan Karon. Jarvis is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jarvis grew up in Virginia and Florida. She earned a degree from Florida State University and was a high school English teacher in Florida for six years before pursuing a degree at Brigham Young University.

She and her husband, Wayne, live in Utah and are the parents of two children.
