Stephen K. Woodhouse

Stephen K. Woodhouse served as president of LDS Business College for seventeen years. He began teaching at the college in 1989 and became president in 1992.

A native of Salt Lake City, Woodhouse graduated from South High School and the University of Utah. He holds a master’s of business administration degree from the University of Utah.

While working in business, Woodhouse was president of two Denver-based information systems firms. He also has served as president of Telesystems Corp. in Salt Lake City and has been an IBM systems engineer and marketing representative.

Two years before joining the LDS Business College faculty, Woodhouse had job offers from two prominent West Coast firms. At the same time he was considering a position at LDS Business College and decided to visit the campus. He said that while visiting the campus and talking to members of the computer department, "I knew at that moment that this is the place I wanted to be.”[1] He was an instructor in computer information systems at the time of his appointment.

He was a member of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation Independent Living Council. He also served as commissioner in the Lone Peak District of the Boy Scouts of America.

Woodhouse is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Sytske, are the parents of six children.
