I would argue that "Mormonism" isn't even a religion at all; therefore how could it be considered a cult? The created page has its point, but is not true based on the writer referring to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as "Mormonism". I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, not The Church of Mormon. The church I attend is one rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ, not the gospel of Mormon. How can those outside the church understand us for who we are as Christian Latter-Day Saints, when we confuse them with terms like "Mormonism". I can understand the term, "Mormon" because that's how people know us, but to step farther away from being a true follower of Christ as to refer to His church/religion as "Mormonism" disgusts me in a way. The Lord has many standards, and I believe we should as well when we refer to His church and gospel.

Perhaps you could edit the article to point out that some members do not take kindly to the term "Mormonism". To my mind the worst that can happen is that it will be edited or removed by other contributors. I trust your day will be a pleasant one. Rickety 06:53, 19 July 2007 (MDT)
