Thomas L. Durham is a composer and arranger of choral and chamber music. He holds a PhD from the University of Iowa. He also earned both a bachelor’s of music degree and a master’s of music degree from the University of Utah.

Durham taught composition, theory, and choral music administration at Brigham Young University. He also served as executive director of the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition from 1999 to 2015, when he retired.

He composed “With Humble Heart,” which was included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has created arrangements of two well-known hymns “Carry On” and “For the Strength of the Hills We Bless Thee” that are also in the 1985 hymnbook.

Durham was a member of the Tabernacle Choir and several of his choral works were featured in broadcasts and live performances. Some of his other notable works include "Martyrdom, Journey and Arrival," "Credo and Sanctus," "Variations on Nephite Song of Lamentation," "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," "Anthem," and "Jesus the Savior Is Born."

He has published works three books on Tonal Dictation as well as scholarly articles on pedagogy, CD liner notes for multiple Tantara recordings (1999–2012), and program notes for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's East European tour and other programs (1990–2003).

Durham was born in 1950 and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
