Willy J. Reske as a composer and organist. He composed hundreds of hymns and organ pieces, including two that were included in the 1985 Hymns of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (#306, “God’s Daily Care; and #261 and #329, “Thy Servants Are Prepared”).

Reske was born on September 25, 1897, in Konigsberg, East Prussia. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1922 in Germany and married Martha Louise Wierner in 1923. He immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1926. He died on September 17, 1991, in Fultonville, New York.

He played the organ at German Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Paul’s for 33 years.
