Vitale "Vic" So'oto

Vitale Ta'aga Magauli “Vic” So'oto is a former professional football linebacker. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2011. He also played for the Oakland Raiders, the Arizona Cardinals, the New Orleans Saints, the Washington Redskins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

So'oto played for Brigham Young University. His senior year, he was a First-team All-Mountain West Conference selection. He earned his bachelor’s degree in geography in 2010.

He began coaching at BYU in 2015 as an intern. He was a graduate assistant followed by defensive line coach at University of Virginia. At USC, from 2020 to 2021, he was also defensive line coach. He was briefly at Colorado University before joining the California Golden Bears in 2022 as outside linebackers coach.

He was selected by the American Football Coaches Association to its 2020 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute. 

So'oto was born on August 19, 1987, in Oceanside, California. He attended high school in Carlsbad, California, where he lettered in football three times. He also lettered in volleyball. As a senior, he was named First-team All-CIF honors and was the team MVP.

He and his wife, Ashley, have five children.
