Johnson’s father, Bob, moved the family to Midway, Utah, in 1985, where he bought an old flourmill and turned it into a family home and eventually into an award-winning bed and breakfast.

Johnson went to Los Angeles to become a stand-up comic and ended up in movies and television as well. His first movie role was in the 1998 Sandman. His other film and television credits include Orcs!, One Good Man, The R.M., C.S.I., Dexter, Beautiful People, Singles Ward, Charly, Law and Order, Frozen, The Maze, Dawn of the Dragonslayer, Dragon Warriors, Vamp U, Veronica Mars, and La Magique Noire.

He has also collaborated with his brothers Bart and Brad on a feature film called The Run and a documentary entitled $6 and a Bottle of Water.

Johnson was one of the five Latter-day Saint comedians in the direct-to-video live comedy concert, “It’s Latter-day Night.” He is part of the L.A.-based improv comedy group “The Society.”
