Karl D. Hirst was called to serve as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sustained on April 6, 2024, during the opening session of general conference.

Elder Hirst was born in Bury, Lancashire, United Kingdom, on Feb. 28, 1972. He lives in Bolsover, England, with his wife, Claire, and their six children.

He received a Bachelor of Law degree from Lancaster University in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Alliance Manchester Business School in 2016. Since 1997, he has worked as a barrister.

At the time of his call, he was serving as a For the Strength of Youth session director. His previous Church callings include full-time missionary in the England London South Mission, bishopric counselor, ward and stake Young Men president, bishop, stake president, and Area Seventy.
