The Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon

The Land of Heth is a region briefly mentioned in the Book of Mormon. Specifically, in the Book of Ether, it is the location where Jared went to when he rebelled against his father Omer. While there, he raised an army of dissenters and overthrew his father and became king of the Jaredites.

And Jared rebelled against his father, and came and dwelt in the land of Heth. And it came to pass that he did flatter many people, because of his cunning words, until he had gained the half of the kingdom. (Ether 8:2)

The Book of Mormon Onomasticon created through Brigham Young University provides a technical discussion of the etymology of the word. See "HETH".
