Larry R. Smith is a choral music teacher and has spent the bulk of his career at Bountiful High School in Utah, where he conducts seven choirs. In 2011 he was named associate conductor of the Bells on Temple Square, the official handbell organization of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, a position he held until May 2017. He has served on the board of the Utah Music Educators Association since 2017 and has been a member of the UMEA his entire career. As a member of the Utah Ambassadors of Music staff, he has conducted and accompanied music throughout Europe.

Smith earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of Utah. He also studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife, Leslie, are the parents of three children.
