Ogath is a geographical location in the Book of Mormon. In the Book of Ether, Ogath served as a gathering place for the armies of Shiz in the great and last battles of the Jaredites.
- And it came to pass that the armies of Coriantumr did press upon the armies of Shiz that they beat them, that they caused them to flee before them; and they did flee southward, and did pitch their tents in a place which was called Ogath. (Ether 15:10)
Having fled the armies of Coriantumr, Shiz camped at Ogath while Coriantumr gathered his armies at the Hill Ramah for the next four years, until everyone in the land except for Ether was gathered into either Coriantumr or Shiz's army.
The Book of Mormon Onomasticon created through Brigham Young University indicates there is no etymology for the geographical name Ogath.[1]
