William W. Parmley was sustained a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy and a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2003 and served until October 2009. Following his release he served as president of the Sacramento California Temple.
Parmley was born on January 22, 1936, in Utah. His mother, LaVern W. Parmley served as General Primary president. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard University and his medical doctor degree from Johns Hopkins Medical School, where he also trained in internal medicine.
