Nimrod is a character from the [[Book of Mormon]]. Nimrod was the last leader of the dissenting kingdom of his grandfather [[Noah, son of Corihor|Noah]]. The kingdom was created when his grandfather sought to overthrow the [[Jaredites|Jaredite]] kingdom of [[Shule]]. Having captured Shule, Noah was about to put him to death, but was killed by Shules' sons. He was succeeded briefly by [[Cohor, son of Noah|Cohor]], who was then slain in battle by Shule. This left the kingdom to Nimrod. Nimrod, however, turned the kingdom over to Shule, thereby merging the Jaredites again under one ruler. For this, Shule granted unto Nimrod grant favors and a high level of freedom within his kingdom.
